"There are untold blushes of dawn,

which have not yet arisen." (Rigveda)

A.. Advocatio!  A question? A mere simple question! Could one ever find a more beautiful thought in the preface of a catalogue that the one cited in the line above? This is the thought that sustains artistic volition and, on the other hand, ever calls visitors to art galleries. This concept gives the reason why the ambitions of various artistic tendencies to erase museums were all in vain - these efforts themselves got into museums instead. In vain was politicians hysteria endeavoring to subjugate arts into servitude and in vain is negation at present expressed either in astonishing ideologies which even put self-mutilation on the pedestal of arts or in the activity of certain TV companies which make use of cruel tragedies to appease hunger for information and attend on hunger for spectacle developed by horrors which cannot be enhanced even by action films any more.

B.. Balatus!  All is in vain, for artists remain artists as well as human beings altogether. Their imagination, in the most favored moments, by emotion and sensibility, enables the recipient to live a more affluent and wealthier life for a while in perpetually changing history. Nowadays, however, like all people, artists have got to face an acute crisis which arises from the increasingly explosive complexity of our century. Real and political empires have collapsed, war has become manifest in our immediate vicinity, not to speak about delinquency or the daily worries of everyday life.

C.. Credo, ergo sum!   Creativity and Challenge? An artist of creative mind has to accept the challenge, make a survey of it and treat it with his fellow-beings - he himself has to undergo a transformation so as to be able to transform and recreate his surroundings and he does not only have to revive himself but also the domain of the process of creation. Such an artist is like us.

D.. Deridiculus! Do we only join in artistic work as organizers arranging exhibitions and organizing colonies of painters? No, we do not only that. We do it but we also live the life of an artist who has to bring about artistic value as against hamburger and Mickey-mouse culture falling on to us.

E.. Elegantia!  As Prometheus stole fire for people, painters steal beauty into our lives. Since we need beauty immensely in the dreariness of our days, we, the artists, derive from our birthplaces, our homelands proper, our schools, our imagination, our fantasies, our hopes and the generative atmosphere in colonies of artists.

F.. Fluctifragus! From the especially hectic life of the previous decade, it is neither the reflection of vexation or disintegration nor the slowly aging novel reaction of mocking scandalizing or the doctrinal claim to construct something new at any cost that we represent in our art.

G.. Gemellus!  Amal Mahmoud is an adept professional painter, sculpturist and décorist who has her own art gallery in Heliopolis, Cairo, EGYPT.

H.. Herois!  She is a very good friend of mine whose approval I asked to post some of her art work on my pages. Please follow the link to her unequivalent supreme pieces of Art.

I.. Illustrius!  Instinctively , we withdraw into an inner world characteristic of our personalities and we draw the spectators of our pictures with us as well. This inner world is, first of all, a world of beauty and clarity. Our delicate and always clear works of art often full of presentiment hiding secrets and recalling our ancestors world into memory suggest harmony, humanism and the existence of real beauty. This inner world is a world of fairness which is primarily expressed in our meaningful interiors and exteriors.

J.. Jugis!  Where does this world come from?

K.. Kalendae!  Our paintings make you and us, the viewers, equally cast our souls back on our own not-so-long- ago past. Since, perhaps, every one of us cherish memories about a fabulous world of fragrant air about beds built high out of grandmothers pillows whipped with care, tablecloths washed and ironed snow-white frothy, draws of chests packed with treasures, chests of drawers pure like tabernacles with the portrait gallery constituted by the fading photographs of the members of the family treasuring secrets or about festive rooms with their peacefulness of devotion inside.

L.. Laboriosus!  Lives, pleasures, sorrows and tragedies hide in the details of our pictures and make you and us remember our past and ask ourselves whether we did everything that we could and that was worth doing. Can our grandparents still sit down outdoors in the verandah in the afternoon sun? Will our children have the chance to remember the water of the river Nile - and not only from poems or photographs? That is why the world depicted in these paintings does not yet sound a knell and these works of art cannot only be considered as mere documents. It is not up to the painter. What he creates is an integral part and continuations of the best traditions as far as either the attitude of the artist or the concept of the pieces are concerned.

M.. Multiplicabilis!  In our pictures here, besides snapshots of our lives, intimate physical human contacts of passion and dorsalistic anatomical paints of the forbidden explorations of the human physique recalling the past and history , even modern trials represent a pictorial treatment as the artist softens the earsplitting noise of our rushing age into the tranquility of delicate colors and decaying forms as if , at least in the realm of painting, we ennobled flesh, blood and concrete blocks equally to make worthy companions of the values of the past.

N.. Notatus! In our paintings, even this swarming torrent becomes humanized. It is just natural that, in this pictorial world, nature also gains ground. The seasons of the year with their ethereal or severe beauty, flowers with their gracefulness, and human bodies entangled in hot passions are all here within gracefully depicted. Both in our larger and in our smaller pictures, the painters fundamental principle is the classical composition and the atmosphere is determined by our decorative, subtly-woven, harmonic coloring. Now we can get acquainted with the works of artists who respect the mastery of the profession and consider it important to attain full knowledge of it - also expressing our respect to the spectator in this way.

O.. Ornamentum!  The close-mouthedness of us might as well be mystic, as there is some secrecy and association sought in our paintings as well. Although we mainly chose to present you human landscapes, physical, passionate, natural and man made environments, the compositions we select from nature, humans, spirits, even nudes we paint these unique interiors with some unusual texturing and material handling.

P.. Parrhasius!  The presented - let it be drawing or matured paintings - is classically set and is developed into a decoratively colorful composition in this interpretation. In this neologism, is on the adjective earnestly decorative.

Q.. Qualitas!  We favor warm oil and gouache  as well as charcoal and pastel shades, those that make the vision more attractive despite its cold atmosphere, and those that meanwhile open up the dream world that creates another reality right instantly. This imagery of reality - even when reflect upon identifiable reality - is produced out of the mixture of three kinds of realities such as: the actual, the abstract and the experienced realities.

R.. Requisitum!  The mecina that has been created out of the image and atmosphere of the ever so often low profiled surrealistic, expressive dreams and impressions runs parallel in space with the seemingly unconscious, though consciously controlled, artistically virtual free mecina. Namely the actual, suppositional and the abstracted, world come alive in our works and these abstractions are soaked with sensitivity and fine lyric.

S.. Semisepultus!  Behind lyricism there hides the prolific emotion of the soul as well as the unique tension of withholding, and in our closed mouthedness, one would feel our search for compromise.

T.. Tranquillitas!  With the calmness of visual expressionism ripens the dare, the sadness, the vibrating gestures and the silence.

U.. Uber!  Those to become power and emotion-provoking colors, but often one might have the strange feeling of hearing the sound behind. All of these qualities bring plasticity besides the earlier mentioned decorativity.

V.. Vascularius!   One can feel the desire to touch our pieces of art.

W.. Vividus!  When presented, we are the masters of shaping them so that they seem to be touchable. This is, however, in the dimensions of soul relationship, which is to be filled with content in the area in-between the picture and the recipient.

X.. Xenium! The painter often doesnt want to grab the unusual or the unique. Our dreaminess is rather more impressive, mood oriented, than leaning towards surrealism. We are the constant search for simple, everyday qualities. We feel the positively charged emptiness with the delicacy of poetry like spontaneity.

Y.. Yes, I love to paint... Yes, oh yes! I love Michelangelo, Leonardo, Rambrandt, Vermeer, Deagas... all those old masters and among the new ones: Odd Nerdrum I love too. I need them...I need their knowledge to be able to express my "Therapy of Dreams, Pharmacy of the Psyche" on the canvas and cardboard. I still have a lot to learn... Those pictures you see, are a mirror of my experiences in the emotional side of my life...and my searching for help and comfort from above...my questions...the answers...my totally naked soul... I hope with my whole heart that somehow they will help you too, as they have helped me while I was creating them! Thank you for taking time watching them!

Z.. Zeuxis! Zayed is my name!

Here, I am including some of my drawings and paintings. All of these have scored first positions in art contests both nationally and internationally. I hope you find them palatable.....!!!

You can also see more of my paintings at these pages:

But, beware! Do not go there if you are not an Art fanatic; you may not like it much!!!

One of my first oil works. It is called

This one relates to when young looking for the LIGHT!

Afraid of the UNKNOWN

HUMAN IMPRISONED

DISAPPOINTED?

One of my best works stolen and sold to a french company as an ad.

Above, you can see some of my best works of art. The first one is an oil painting called (Prison) and depicts humans in all forms and trades in life. The second and third are portraits derived from my photographs of me at the of four and five years looking for light and afraid of the unknown!

The fifth is a lost human in this world and the sixth is the face showing the misery of life. The seventh is one of my masterpieces and it is a painting cut from an advertisement that came first place once in Egypt's national art contest but was sold to a french company without my authorization. God bless them all.....!

Finally, do not get the idea that I am pissimistic or a believer of futility; on the contrary, I always have hope and pray for the best.."Speramus Meliora!"
